Pros
Stand up desks, Good size office space, Good Teammates, Very secure (have to go through many keycard doors)
Kontras
All overtime is unpaid. They are aware the salaries are not competitive, Your faced with a very long 9 month probation. Billable time and utilization are king. (This means vacation/sick days cut into your utilization.) They are not interested in your innovative ideas, The office space is grey and unimaginative. They rarely give you any perks, and the evaluation system is designed with a fixed number of people allowed to receive each ranking. (meaning that even though they encourage team work, in reality your in a competitive system with your peers, and the rewards for being a top performer are pitiful. ) The only people who advance are the ones with the most visibility (Ie the ones who work directly with and sit near other management.) There are no interesting projects at the Halifax centre. They are hiring more people than they have seats! People are leaving all the time when they realize what is going on and that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I know this review sounds doom and gloom but I promise you if you come to work at the halifax office you will see all this come to reality. Friends don't let friends work at IBM.
