Partnerships and Strategy Manager, EU Collectibles
Location: Bern, Switzerland
About the team and the role
eBay’s Collectibles team leads development and delivery of our FC Collectibles Initiative with a focus on our launched trading cards, coins, and toys categories, portfolio of collectibles companies, and the ongoing expansion of FC coverage across the diverse Collectibles vertical.
In this role, you will be a key member of the EU Collectibles Team reporting to the GM of EU Collectibles. As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining partnerships with key partners to drive growth and expand our reach within this strategic focus area for eBay. We are looking for a proactive and strategic problem solver who is passionate about building relationships and finding opportunities for collaboration. You will also be supporting on M&A, Strategic Investments and Ventures deals with additional strategic scope supporting on ad hoc projects within the collectibles space.
What you will Accomplish:
Develop strategic partnerships with key industry partners to drive growth and achieve eBay collectibles’ strategic goals.
Identify potential partnership opportunities and create strategies to capitalize on them
Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential partners across a variety of services and deal types
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, legal, marketing, and category management to ensure successful execution of partnership initiatives
Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends and potential partnership opportunities
Own the end to end partnership process and develop, negotiate and complete partnerships that align with eBay's goals and objectives
Act as a brand ambassador for eBay, representing the company in a professional and positive manner
Continuously identify new and innovative ways to leverage partnerships to achieve category objectives
Stay up-to-date on industry developments and competitor activities to inform partnership strategies
Communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators, including partners, vendors, and clients
Proactively identify and address any challenges or issues that may arise in partnership collaborations
What you will bring:
Ability to develop partnerships from strategy development through execution in support of business objectives
Ability to maintain a strategic perspective, whilst also being able to zoom in to the detail (e.g. product requirements)
Ability to function in an ambiguous and fast changing environment
Excellent collaborator management means bringing collaborators with you on the journey. They receive information, and their teams are engaged to develop the best solutions possible.
A data-driven approach, using analytics, including customer and market insights, to inform customer-centric outcomes across project delivery
Experience working with senior stakeholders from different functions globally
Experience working in dynamic and emergent markets, ability to understand complex situations and innovate on business models
Clear, succinct, communication style. Able to explain highly complex topics simply
Basic Qualifications:
Experience In Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Consulting, or Investment Banking
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Negotiating And Managing Partnerships With Key Stakeholders.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships.
Excellent presentation skills + high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Slides and/or MS Powerpoint.
Excellent analytical skills, experience pulling data/gathering insights, and high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Sheets and/or MS Excel.
Excellent program/project management skills and high-level proficiency in related tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters of Business Administration
German language fluency
Passion for Trading Cards, Coins, Comics, Toys or other Collectibles
Experience with the media industry landscape esp. licensing, rights etc.
Knowledge And Understanding Of E-Commerce Industry Trends And Competitive Landscape
