Pros

Good place to start after university, if you are willing to work long and hard. Many opportunities for new analysts to pick up valuable skills and gain worthwhile experience with FTSE 100 clients which will open doors in the future. Really good place to start your career, whether or not you stay to become partner. Generally you feel that your are working with bright capable people and that nothing is impossible.

Kontras

Long hours, unsociable hours, constant weekends. Forget your family. From the late 90s until around 2002, the salary and package was unbeatable in the UK along with the 10k GBP golden hello. Since then its been steadily trimmed back and the salaries and benefits are now quite unremarkable. There was a pay freeze for many in consulting in 2006. At the same time profits and share price have continued to steam ahead, leaving many employees feeling short-changed. There is a feeling that they have gone downmarket in order to compete on price with other consulting firms and the Indian outsourcers, so in terms of working with the smartest people in the business...its not what it used to be as salaries have gone down, so have the quality of the recruits they manage to hang onto. The best people are leaving in droves to become freelancers and earn a good daily rate.

Pros

Hands down the best company I've worked for. It's fast-paced, but Accenture genuinely empowers its people rather than micromanaging them. The benefits are a real priority — they invest in your physical and mental health, offer a generous amount of PTO, and there are legitimate opportunities for promotion if you put in the work. If you're someone who gets bored easily in a role, this is one of the few places where you can stay with the same company and reinvent your career multiple times. The investment in training and upskilling is heavy and ongoing. And the culture around authenticity is real, not just a poster in the break room — especially in the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, you're encouraged to bring your whole self to work and be comfortable being you.

Kontras

This is not the place for you if you don't like change. Pivoting is constant, and keeping up with the latest industry trends can be uncomfortable at times. The sheer size of the organization means it can be hard to find the information you need, and learning the internal infrastructure takes a while. You'll also run into some negativity from folks during tough stretches — but honestly, if you're coming from a turbulent work history elsewhere, you'll recognize that this is much better than most.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Kontras

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
