Making a difference 🤝 In 2014, Gabi Haak, Manager ICD Operating Excellence, began volunteering at Sonrise Ministries' orphanages in Uganda which later inspired her to found the NPO Peace's Hope e.V. to further support their work. Recently, a month-long trip enabled some of our colleagues to witness the incredible work being done and to work hands-on in the orphanages. Henkel has officially opened its new Asia R&D Center for Henkel Consumer Brands in Shanghai! 🌏👏 The center spans over 2,500 square meters of floor space, making it Henkel's largest R&D facility in Asia. Built on the design concept of innovation, digitalization, and sustainability, the R&D center features state-of-the-art equipment to accelerate growth and product innovation for Henkel Consumer Brands. 🙌 In total, the center integrates six functional areas: consumer center, advanced research, product development, packaging design, chemical and physical analysis, and product evaluation. 🧑🔬🔬
Introducing fully paid gender-neutral parental leave for all our employees worldwide! At Henkel, we have a firm commitment to diversity, #equity, and inclusion. This is why, we’ll be offering our employees worldwide up to eight weeks of fully paid #ParentalLeave as of this year. The new global guideline is based on the caregiver role, rather than on gender or biological parent status. Thereby, the program will be available for not only biological mothers and fathers but also to adoptive, foster, surrogacy, and LGBTQ+ parents. Through this new guideline, we want to challenge traditional gender roles, include all family types, and promote equal access to parenting and #childcare around the world.
Henkel Polybit Dammam sets new standards for sustainability ♻️🌱 Our site in Dammam, Saudi Arabia was the first to establish a fully circular production process in the region. By #recycling and reusing hundreds of tons of production waste every year. This is a significant step towards a more #sustainablefuture. 💚🏭 This pioneering waste management serves as a model for other Henkel locations and is a central part of the #sustainability strategy to be climate positive by 2030.
