Clean Harbors celebrates World Health Day on April 7, which is a time to draw attention to a variety of health topics that concern individuals all over the world. The theme for this year’s celebration is, “My Health, My Right,” recognizing and treating universal health needs as a basic human right. Key to this year’s theme is that all people should have access to safe drinking water and the ability to breathe clean air. This belief has been championed by Clean Harbors since the company was founded more than 40 years ago. Whether it is through the treatment of contaminated water or a commitment to incorporating renewable energy via solar and geothermal sources, protecting the natural environment has always been central to Clean Harbors’ identity.
April is Autism Acceptance Month which is a time to not only raise awareness for those with autism, but to recognize their many unique strengths and perspectives. It is also a time to give allies the tools and understanding needed to live and work alongside their autistic peers. Clean Harbors is dedicated to offering an open and accepting culture for all employees, and we are committed to fostering and building a more inclusive world for all who live in it. Multiple sources estimate that over 1 billion individuals identify as being neurodivergent (including those on the autism spectrum), and in recognition of World Autism Day we join those celebrating diversity and acceptance for all. #autismacceptance #inclusion #empowerment #DEI
Clean Harbors was represented at the Mid-America Trucking Show once again this year. MATS is the largest annual heavy-duty trucking event in the world. The three-day event was held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky from March 21-23. Through education, networking opportunities, live entertainment and more, MATS provides a forum for industry professionals to experience new and emerging equipment and technology in the trucking sector. For the event, National Transportation’s Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Manager Cody Bolick and Talent Consultant Rick Ward partnered with Sales and Service Talent Consultant Lisa Thorpe. Also on hand at the event was Kellylynn Mclaughlin, a Clean Harbors driver who also serves as a member of the WIT (Women in Trucking Association) Image Team, as well as a WIT mentor.
At HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, we continue to prioritize hands-free work and have incorporated drones into our operations, allowing for faster and more efficient processes that otherwise require climbing scaffolding or being in confined spaces/rough terrains. Meet our team of drones, which perform visual inspections, facility mapping, wall and coating thickness measurements, emissions leak detection and more.
Last Friday, Clean Harbors teams throughout the United States, Canada and India enjoyed Employee Appreciation Day with shared meals, activities and camaraderie. Leaders celebrated their amazing teams to recognize all they do every day in support of our company mission.
The HPC Industrial facility in Corpus Christi, Texas once again teamed up to support Camp Aranzazu, a camp in Rockport, Texas that caters to children and adults with special needs and chronic illnesses. As it has in past years, HPC Industrial participated in the Valero Corpus Christi chili cook-off earlier this month, with money raised going directly to the camp. HPC’s participation and donation from the event will help serve nearly 1,900 campers this year. Great job, Clean Harbors team in Corpus Christi!
For the second consecutive year, Clean Harbors has earned a spot on Clean200 from Corporate Knights. This global recognition reflects companies contributing the most in clean economy solutions.

We recently surprised two groups of drivers with a special recognition event in honor of the drivers obtaining perfect safety scores for 2023! It was quite an accomplishment for the 39 drivers, who are based in two branches located in the Gulf region. Our Transportation Compliance team worked hard to analyze data from roughly 8,500 drivers, and these 39 were the best of the best. It was a thrill to recognize them for setting a standard of excellence throughout the entire year and for making safety a top priority. Our thanks to our Electronic Logging Device (ELD) system provider for helping us pull the data together and allowing us to recognize our drivers for their efforts!
