Pros
Access to large, global clients, and good autonomy for non-Indian staff.
Kontras
Those large, global clients just want cheap services! They will then complain ceaselessly on poor delivery, that never meets the sales gloss. Cringe-worthy internal Wipro advertising to a disenfranchised and disinterested staff - to the point of being an internal spam-storm in your inbox. Documentation skills non-existent... just a reliance on only submitting PowerPoint presentations rather than actually documenting anything - which is professionally embarrassing. God-like worship of your managers is expected, and if a senior figure flies in from India you are expected to drop everything and join the grovelling, whatever the travel requirement and even at weekends. The treatment of the Indian staff is awful to witness. Meetings booked for after midnight their time, and at weekends - they are expected to be on 24 hours call. Mocking and laughing at them on phone conferences, and if the client has any criticism then the mid-managers just look around for someone to fire rather than do anything different. The Wipro bottom line is just "grab more money." Quality and standards are non-existent. I saw failing contracts where after a few weeks of new staff 'fixing things' (i.e. just completing tasks that are months overdue), managers were again pressuring just to sign up new work from the client to hit targets. If you HAVE to work here then take their money, but never stop looking for a way out ASAP!
