Pros
Lots of great people to talk to about the market leading technology solutions that Oracle has acquired/developed. If you're a tech head sales person you'll love it until you realise that the tech is for selling not for using although in some cases this is a blessing. The deepest and broadest suite of business technology available anywhere on the planet. If you get a territory that has already got some of the products from your pillar in the companies you're meant to be selling to - you have got an opportunity to make some money Exceptional inclusion policy and benefits selection.
Kontras
CX didn't get a mention in the Q2 company report Zero collaboration between reps that sell the different applications, so no means to leverage the only USP that Oracle has in the applications space – there is no incentive to collaborate so no surprises that this doesn’t happen; it’s a waste of time to help someone achieve their target if you don’t get any remuneration for that assistance The user interfaces of the high value products within CX are bad (they’re improving, but far too slowly) Self-service = no support… so massive inefficiencies and wasted energy as sales people have to fix their laptops etc. Stretched management team – don’t expect any help from them because they’re too busy filling in spreadsheets Team selling constitutes of a few people being added to a record and getting paid on deals Abysmal data quality within the CRM (the worst I have ever seen, duplication central) No sales enablement but they do sell products for sales enablement CRM not used as a CRM more as an activity monitoring tool, but this again is understandable as it’s clunky, slow and doesn’t add any value to your sales role because there are no notes from anybody in there Go to market is non existent, consisting of emails and cold calls (their own training says that this is ineffective) Company “personality change” is referred to a lot and there’s a long way to go on that point – still auditing companies and strong arming sales revenue rather than selling on value Deeply suspicious that they hired all the sales people in 2017 to get the ticker symbol ringing
