Pros

An ok lunch, which they actually did degrade and currently reminds of a prison lunch. Colleagues were nice and fun quite a long time ago, but since the company is ruled by fear, it changed loyalty’s way swiftly. People became rather opportunistic. Great mission and potential but poor execution; seemed like a wonderful product but customers kept pointing out that the product does not actually work. Flexible working hours but not really different from any other opportunities, as flexibility is a norm in today’s working culture ;)

Not even sure where to start. As the most prominent issues, I was harassed, threatened, and stalked by one of my colleagues. When I reported this to human resources and my manager, I was quickly let go for made-up reasons (“performance issues,” previously non-existent) I was given a written warning and 4 days to improve my performance, of which 2 were during the weekend. Even though the written warning said that I have time to improve, by the time I received it, HR and my manager already had my firing meeting scheduled in their calendar, which they failed to make “a private event,” so I knew what’s coming. On top of that, the said manager was defending my abuser after all this, even congratulated him for his new job after both of us were let go. Moreover, my manager failed to provide any psychological safety – I never felt safe bringing up issues, I was punished and/or humiliated for speaking up, questioning anything, or coming up with improvements as my effort to make the organization thrive. No growth opportunities. Furthermore, the same manager got overly involved in my personal choices, for example, when it came to relationships and clothing. As for other “less problematic” issues to point out, on a continuous basis, people disappear suspiciously on the last day of the month without a warning or explanation. If you question why, the management will avoid giving an answer. To point out the chauvinism going on in this company and the “boys club” attitude, they only promote white men to executive positions. Inclusivity is non-existent nor addressed when challenged. Unprofessional practices: as one of the many examples, I had to self-onboard myself when I started and I had no endpoint security installed on my device for months as a result - in a security company. Lastly, social life is non–existent, celebrations are restricted to “selected” people or departments, which creates tension between employees.
