Pros

The employees that survived the recent layoffs are more close knit than ever

Kontras

Management constantly lied to us about remaining independent back in January when the private equity firm took a big stake in us on the day of the layoffs, the new chief product Officer was on vacation. Other key vPs were also on vacation and had someone else do their layoffs for them. the new acting CEO lied when he said that all the layoffs were made based on business reasons and not performance reasons...he also practices Nepotism. the CEO automatically made his friend as the CPO even tho he doesn't have the experience. People are in survival mode and doing more gossiping than working just to make sure they are pally pally with management VPs who barely did much work are being promoted while regular employees take on more responsibility for the same pay and no promotion

(The following is posted on behalf of Jo Stoner, Chief Human Resources Officer and EVP of Workplace Solutions for Informatica.) We understand that you may be upset by the changes recently at Informatica. It was certainly a tough time for the Company having to go through a restructuring process. However, I wanted to respond to a few points you raise as they were not completely accurate. Your timeline of events is not correct. It was an activist shareholder that took a stake in Informatica back in January and management responded to that and kept employees informed within the legal and public company constraints within which they had to operate. The press were not bound by such constraints and so there was plenty of information and speculation available in the media, much of which was also highly inaccurate. The reduction in force resulted from a re-alignment of our businesses and strategies. The decisions behind that reduction were made based on job criteria, not on performance – we were sorry to lose those who moved on and have been putting our efforts into ensuring their transition was smooth and that they are taken care of and well placed to find a new position. Some have in fact been offered new positions with the Company in new locations which doesn’t resonate with a performance related set of decisions. Sohaib has personally reached out to many of those impacted and they have all reinforced their degree of pride in the company and the contributions they made to it; contributions they should be really proud of. Our new EVP Chief Product Officer, Amit Walia, brings years of technical executive experience to his role, including management of our highly successful Data Integration & Security Group. Prior to that, he held executive roles at Intuit, Symantec, Infosys and McKinsey. His track record of accomplishment was carefully evaluated by our sponsors before entrusting him with such a critical role overseeing product development for their investment. Morale would obviously be impacted by having to say goodbye to our colleagues, Informatica has always had a culture of teamwork and respect and so it was hard to go through this change. However, I do not think that everyone left behind is looking to leave, nor is it true that nobody wants to join here. We have hired some amazing new talent into the company over the past few weeks and months – they see the potential for the company moving forward and value a company with a strong culture. If you read the other reviews here, you will see that most people are excited about our future and upbeat about our new management and strategy. In the past week alone, over 1,000 people have applied for new positions at Informatica according to the latest analytics from our careers website. I understand that change is hard and the future opportunity may not be for everyone. I would encourage any employee who is angry or unhappy in their current role to reach out to me, or anyone in my HR team, or to their manager or any senior leader in the company to discuss their concerns live. We all spend a lot of time at work and it should be a place where one can grow and learn and be engaged. If Informatica is not able to provide that environment for you, a different direction may be in order, but it would be a shame not to address the concerns you have and to miss out on being part of a bright future.
