Very closed silos leads to: - Very hard moving between departments, even if they tell you its so simple. So if you get into a dysfunctional department... your options are quit, or accept it. - Hard to get information from other silos, so you are left on your own. - Very restricted travel, so you rarely get to meet people from other silos. If you are without an assignment for too many months, expect to be pushed out without compensation. Training very limited, unless you think "youtube" style training is good enough, or think 15 min quicktalks should be sufficient.
