They have great benefits and are good about balancing work and home life, for the most part. They also are good about paying for books if you want to study up on something in your field.

I think my team is a unique situation, but I think management can be too idealistic and caught up in the consulting world. They tend to want to "consult away" every single problem, even problems in-house or within the team. Half the time this means that they're side-stepping the issue or straight-faced lying to you -- I mean, consulting you.
