Pros

-Recruiting and First Day activities are superior to any other company I have worked for; you always know what's happening when and what's expected of you -Onboarding is organized, extensive, and relevant -Work life balance is a priority -Mentorship and Professional Development are a frequent focus and strongly encouraged -Writing and Documentation skills are highly valued and tons of training for these skills is required, offered, and encouraged -Lots of ways to get involved in interest groups -Remote work is not an issue, everything is virtual and the right tools are provided to make virtual work efficient and effective -Travel to meet teams face-to-face is encouraged, despite the expense -Professional behavior is expected, bad behavior is not tolerated - ever -Poor performance is addressed quickly and effectively so that teams are not negatively impacted -Lots of opportunities to move up and sideways; it's expected that you seek out new roles and change teams over time

-the IT portion of onboarding is excruciating - the directions are not clear and it's really difficult to do remotely -Although Benefits are pretty good, they are expensive for a family -The organization is huge, a good manager and a mentor are required to navigate your career -Expectations are incredibly high - prioritization, saying no are required but are sometimes difficult to accomplish -Time zones are often times not respected; individuals must set boundaries and decline meetings outside work hours -Most tools are built in-house; for example, Jira is not used for agile/scrum; a lot of time spent learning new tools for familiar/every day activities -Pay for non-technical roles is lower which artificially decreases the value of individuals within teams when the work is just as important (as a Program Manager III I make significantly less than a Technical Program Manager III)

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
