Pros
Amazon is a huge company, trying to judge it as an employer and/or base your opinion based on reviews from people in an organization outside the one you are targeting will be a disservice to yourself. This list is particular to my experience in Alexa International. -Leadership: All the leaders I've come across are very supportive of their organization several levels down. They tough but focus on the goals and how to remove obstacles, not where to assign blame. I love my boss. -Diversity: There is a significant number of women and other minorities in positions of leadership . Even diversity within smaller teams is evident and is a priority. Diversity here goes beyond lip service compared to other companies I've work for that claim they care about diversity. -Compensation: This is a big tech company, their compensation is high. You can compare it to many other tech companies and chase the dollar signs or better benefits, but at the end of the day you are getting a fair compensation. -Quality of people around you: It is very competitive to get in, once you are hired it is a given that you are smart and so are the others around you. Everyone raises the bar together but this is not only from a work competence perspective. People in this organization have a very warm human quality to them that helps the job feel less stressful, helps prioritize your personal life and encourages to grow in ways beyond your assigned work responsibilities. -Guiding north stars: Every team has very clear goals, scope, guiding north stars and tenets that makes it "easy" even for someone new to feel empowered to make the right decisions even when there are disagreements or the "boss" is not in the room. -Relocation package: If you are required or want to relocate to your assign city office when taking the job, Amazon offers a great options to match your needs regardless if you are a single person renting or a big family looking to buy a house.

-Size and communication: While a big company comes with many resources, it also comes with many different teams. This often causes a lot of friction when it comes to sharing details or identifying and involving all affected stakeholders on a timely manner. There are processes in place to minimize this but is a constant struggle, although I wouldn't say it is worse than other companies. -Benefits: Compared to other big tech companies, Amazon does not offer the best benefits but they are still good. This comes from their "frugality" mindset.
