Pros
Looks great on a resume, Don't work here if you already have a tech resume or don't want to end up in Seattle.
Kontras
A lot of overpaid and untalented upper management who survive only by jumping from group to group. What a lot of people don't know about Amazon is that there is a large percentage of upper management who change roles every 6-8 months. They have no programming, product or data management skills. They simply do this to not get fired and not get found out and to get their stocks to their vesting period. On the surface, this doesn't seem that bad! But when your work puts a mirror up to their strategy or the status quo changes (which it does every 4 months) They will create performance issue that doesn't exist and use company chargon (Amazon has 13 leadership principles) to trump up charges and make your job impossible. This happens in every large department that is a cost center. They will waste your time and try and move you across the country like any retail company. Amazon has great departments that generate revenue, if you are not in one of those departments it's a crap shoot at best.
