I got a call from a friend of my father's that said he knew that a job fair was happening at the Sunnyvale plant. Having been out of school and still looking for my first job, I had no other choice but to go. I got to the facility and then stood in lin e with about 3,000 other applicants. Being a new grad, they took some interest in me, and after a month or so, with a lot of leg work on my part, I got mention that there was a little interest in me. The only job that they had avaiable though was in Pennsylvania, not California, but I took what i could get. About a month again passed and then i was flown out to talk one to one with the manager. The interview took about 20 minutes, and then i was given a tour of the plant. To be perfectly honest, I dont think I am all that jazz, so a 20 minute interview was very supprising to me; it said that they already wanted to hire me and had decided that I was good enough. I flew back and waited until just before Christmas to get an offer, saying they wanted me just before the Christmas shutdown. It took many many calls to HR to get anything accomplished and I showed up just after New Year's. All in all, being my first real job, this was very rushed and didnt seem like there was a lot of thought that was put into the process.
