My experience with Koppers was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had with any company ever. I applied to this role back in the beginning of March of 2024 through a recruiting company. I went through 4 rounds of interviews. A screening call, a first interview with the team, THREE different writing and graphic design tests, and finally an interview with the VP. After ALL of these steps and a full month of my time I was offered the position and only given a few hours to accept the role, which I did do. I also made it entirely clear with the team from day one of the process that I would be on a family vacation for a portion of this process and I would be in a completely different timezone with a 6hr difference, but I still completed an interview while on vacation because I was repeatedly told that I had excellent feedback and I was the top applicant. After accepting my offer and beginning the onboarding paperwork the next week, I received a call from my recruiter that said "Koppers has done some internal reviews and they have decided to not move forward with this position." So not only did they not have they decency to speak to me personally regarding the sudden dismissal of my role, but I was basically given no information as to WHY I was suddenly let go before the role could even start! Koppers and this team wasted an entire month of my life for a job that they ultimately decided was not even needed. What a blatant disregard of my time and the other applicants time. I am extremely disgusted with how this was handled.
