I met with the office manager and since I had prior experience in Chicago, I was interviewed and hired quickly. If you are new to taxes, take the class that H&R Block offers, do all of the practice problems and ask the seasoned tax pro tons of questions. (Ask when they have down town, they can get cranky otherwise).

Interview was after passing their tax course, which is about 30 hours. Interview was a formality as they will hire just about anyone who passes their course or had tax prep experience.

Upon completing the application through the H&R Block website , I followed up with a call to their office and spoke with a preparer to schedule my interview. I interviewed with two preparers who had a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. They were very welcoming and kind. They asked me about my prior work experience and spoke to me about their experience and backgrounds. It felt more like a conversation than the usual feeling of an interrogative interview, which I liked. They also allowed space for me to ask questions. It was an amazing interview process.
