The secrets of the sun's corona may soon be unlocked thanks to the historic Proba-3 mission. And onsemi technology is at the heart of it all! Dr. Steven Buckley, lead engineer on the project at onsemi, spoke to PetaPixel about the extremely sensitive shadow positioning sensors and silicon photomultipliers his team built for Proba-3, and how they will be used to create an artificial eclipse to study the sun's corona. Our intelligent sensing technology will be used to align two satellites, flying at a speed of 22,000 mph, into a flight pattern that has to be accurate down to 1mm! onsemi ($ON) has released third-quarter 2024 earnings results with total revenue of $1.76 billion and non-GAAP gross margin of 45.5%. Net Income for the quarter was $423.8 million with a Diluted Earnings Per Share of $0.99. Over the last 12 months, 75% of free cash flow has been returned to shareholders through stock repurchases.
