Charles Koch Honored with the 2025 Milton Friedman Prize We’re proud to share that our founder, Charles Koch, has received the 2025 Milton Friedman Prize for Advancing Liberty—one of the highest honors for those advancing human freedom. Presented by the Cato Institute, the award recognizes Charles’ lifelong commitment to a free and open society. In his acceptance speech, he emphasized the importance of staying true to principle, especially in times of uncertainty—a message that reflects the heart of our work at Stand Together. Charles is the first American individual to receive this award, joining global leaders who’ve stood for liberty against the odds. His son, Chase Koch, presented the award and invited attendees to stand if Charles had impacted their lives—nearly the entire room stood. It was a powerful moment for Charles—and for all of us at Stand Together.

Last month, we opened the last phase of Stand Together’s new headquarters in Virginia. It’s more than a new building, it’s a milestone in a long journey that our organization is on to better apply the principles of human progress. As we do, we accomplish more than we ever imagined possible, helping realize the promise of our country as a place where all people can live their best lives by helping others do the same. The new space was designed to reflect these principles that guide our work. Principles like openness, methodological individualism, self-actualization, and the recognition that free people are capable of extraordinary things when they’re surrounded by a culture and institutions that embody these principles. - Brian Hooks, Chairman & CEO Stand Together
