The Crossroads is a new housing development in the Village of Saukville, Wisconsin, shaped through a strong partnership between Neumann Companies and the Village of Saukville. SEH Planner Brea Grace, AICP supported early conversations with Village President Andy Hebein, SPHR, helping both sides explore a public private partnership and use TIF funding to move the project forward. This collaboration resulted in a mixed-use neighborhood with single family homes, multifamily units, and extended utilities that now support nearby properties, including a Church that had been waiting for a solution for years. The Crossroads gives people more ways to live in Saukville and stay connected to local employers, supporting long-term community growth. #CommunityDevelopment #HousingInWisconsin #Saukville

When the City of Richmond, Virginia’s waterworks system experienced a major failure, the Virginia Department of Health Office Of Drinking Water (ODW) knew short-term fixes weren’t enough. 💧 They needed a full evaluation that addressed infrastructure, operations, and long-term reliability. Working alongside ODW, our team completed a comprehensive review of the city’s waterworks system, from pump stations to storage tanks, then developed prioritized recommendations and cost estimates to guide future improvements. Reliable water for a growing community! The City of Ankeny is one of Iowa’s fastest-growing communities. To help meet increasing water demands, SEH designed a 24-inch transmission main along South Ankeny Boulevard that connects two Central Iowa Water Works sources with the city’s water towers and northwest booster station. This new looped network adds system redundancy, helping ensure residents and businesses continue to have reliable water service even during maintenance or repairs. In Sussex, Wisconsin, a piece of land mapped with wetlands and hydric soils wasn’t a good match for a planned subdivision. Instead of pushing forward, the site was turned into the Hickory Hills Mitigation Bank, giving the area a chance to be restored and opened to the public. Now you can see native wetland and upland plants filling in, and neighbors are able to walk, hike, and enjoy the space. Our team reviewed the site conditions and recommended the shift, helping the land be used in a way that fits its natural environment. What started as a challenge is now becoming a place for the community to learn and explore. 🌲
