What an inspiring day at the 2024 Race for a Cure in Columbus! Thank you to everyone who joined the Mount Carmel team. We celebrated survivors, supported those battling breast cancer, and honored loved ones we've lost. Your dedication made this event truly special. 💖 Every step was a step forward in our fight against breast cancer. Thank you for your passion and for making a difference with us!
Throughout National Volunteer Month, we are highlighting our amazing volunteers and their dedication. Meet Elaine! "I've been Volunteering at MCEH since 1985 when I was delivering flowers and water carafes to the patient rooms. In 1991, I started helping out in Outcomes Management, and In 1992, when my son was born at MCEH, I continued to volunteer (taking some time here and there to be a Mom). In 2001, I started Volunteering with Therapy Dog Russell (Russell had his last visit when he was 15 years old!) I have had four dogs in the Therapy Program at MCEH - Russell, Aiden, Ron, and Mason. Mason started visiting when he was about a year and a half old, and he will be nine years old this July. The best part of having a Therapy Dog is that smiles greet me every time I enter the hospital." Elaine May has been volunteering with us for almost 40 years, and we thank her for her hard work and dedication across many different departments. ❤️ Learn more about our volunteer program: bit.ly/3UhL9DD
Dr. Kamel Addo and our colleagues from Mount Carmel are making waves in Ghana! They recently implanted the first pacemakers in Tamale, but their mission doesn't end there. If you’d like to contribute to the worldwide effort to bring advanced heart care to Africa during Heart Month, please consider donating to the non-profit Arrhythmia Alliance, an international clearinghouse for these life-saving efforts.
