Last week our Product and Exec leadership teams had the chance hang out with Team Maine for a gorgeous summer picnic day. Our teams work so hard taking care of our members and each other and any chance we get to pause with them to celebrate and enjoy some refueling - especially when it involves summer watermelon - we're thrilled to do it! Happy Summer!
Team New Castle, Indiana helped their local community get ready for Back to School with an amazing Back to School bash! The event was complete with activities, new backpacks, school supplies, back to school haircut and photo station, and of course lots of food and games! New Castle Counselor, Rodney, was even on site creating custom carved keychains for our members to celebrate their recovery journey milestones - our care teams are so talented! Thank you to all of our local members - both from New Castle and even the incredible members from offices in neighboring towns that stopped by to enjoy the day. We are so proud of our Groups community and love seeing it in action.
According to the CDC, in 2023, the national rate of overdose deaths in the United States dropped 3%. This is the first drop that has happened since 2018; an exciting sign of the hope possible in recovery. A few states saw 15% or higher decrease in this rate, including Indiana. We are so proud of our Indiana team for the undeniable impact they’ve had on the lives of their fellow Hoosiers. We see it every day in the lives touches and members cared for, but to see this reflected in such an important statistic is an incredible milestone to celebrate! There is still so much work to be done to support anyone seeking recovery. Everyone deserves the chance to start their recovery, and Groups is honored to be a part of the communities in Indiana we serve and to be there for our members, every single day 💜
Team New Hampshire recently got together to enjoy the gorgeous weather and good company, including some (very) competitive wiffle ball, good food and lots of laughs. NH Operations Supervisor Jill told us: 'Having everyone in person together was such a blessing. A big thank you to the team in Maine for covering the offices for the day so we had a day to refuel, we can't wait to return the favor! One of our medical providers shared with me the next day: “My mood was lifted by this get-together by orders of magnitude. I can't even begin to say how much impact it had on me, and how needed it was. I feel so lucky to work with such a great bunch of people.” As you can see, team NH is an amazing group of people and we're proud of the incredible work they do each day serving their NH communities!
Our Indiana Recovery Support Specialist team had a special day last week visiting the Recovery Cafe in Indianapolis. They spent the day learning about the program and sharing about Groups, discovering new and different ways we can partner to support our Indiana community, and of course exchanging some great swag :) Recovery Support Supervisor Dejai shared: 'The Recovery Cafe is a great organization to connect with if we have members facing transportation barriers and those that may be homeless and struggle finding a meal. They support all pathways to recovery and offer many drop-in education classes, we are so excited to collaborate as we work to serve the Recovery Community of Indiana! On behalf of the IN RSS team, I wanted to thank the Recovery Cafe for hosting us and allowing us the opportunity to make connections in our community.' We know that Recovery happens in community, and are so proud to have so many strong partnerships in the Hoosier state. Our team of Recovery Support Specialists walk alongside our members, connecting them to resources and supporting their needs across many areas - we couldn't be more proud to have them as a part of our Groups team.
Team Indiana had a blast hanging out at The Summer of Recovery last week! The Summer of Recovery Tour celebrates family-friendly pro-social events with live music, speakers, a DJ, and opportunities for people to connect with local recovery-related resources. We never miss a chance to connect with our IN community and this was no exception!
Our Kentucky team had an incredible time at The Northern Kentucky Pride Parade and Festival in Covington! This event celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community in the region and fosters inclusivity and love. The phrase of the day was "Y'all means ALL", and we couldn't agree more at Groups. Recovery for ALL of us is possible, no matter who you are ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
Team Indiana clocked into the pride celebrations early this year, kicking off the month of festivities at New Castle Pride. Meaghan, Jenny and Rodney spent the day connecting with the New Castle community. Our teams have deep roots in the communities they serve and can often be found out at local events celebrating the cities and people they love. At Groups, we take great pride in our inclusive community. LGBTQIA+ individuals face nearly double the risk of addiction compared to the general population. We are dedicated to offering a welcoming space where everyone can find recovery and feel accepted. 🏳️🌈 Groups has over 30 locations throughout Indiana and we're hiring! Kristy (Operations Coordinator) and Miranda (Counselor) from team Richmond, KY proudly represented Groups for the second year in a row at the The Mountain Mushroom Festival in Irvine, KY. This festival is a celebration of the Appalachian culture and was a great chance to connect with our KY community, hand out the free harm reduction tool Narcan, strengthen relationships with stakeholders, and obviously enjoy all the mushroom themed festivities!
