We are proud to present our newest recipients of the Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship: Jake Jacobsen and Jan Johnson, cadets from the California State University Maritime Academy. Jacobsen and Johnson were honored for their service aboard vessels owned or managed by Crowley and their interest in pursuing a career at sea beyond the classroom.
Let’s congratulate our 2024 Top Women in Maritime – Jennifer Narvasa, vetting and assurance manager of our government services, and Jayne Russell, director of interior design for our engineering services team are being recognized by Marine Log for their professional achievements and contributions to the maritime industry. With nearly 20 years in the maritime industry, Narvasa has impacted the industry both at sea and shoreside. Since joining Crowley in 2015 as an assistant port captain for our Western Alaska fleet, her expertise led her to Jacksonville, where she now manages the Crowley-operated vessels that serve in MARAD’s Tanker Security Program. Russell, an accomplished interior designer with nearly 30 years in the maritime industry, began her career working on overnight passenger vessels in Alaska. Joining Crowley in 2022, she leads the marine interior design team in providing customers with elevated interior spaces that meet their operational needs. Congratulations to you both!
Recently, Jose Francisco Nazario senior director of Crowley Logistics, was elected president of the Asociación de Navieros de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Shipping Association). With more than 40 years of experience, Nazario, who is based in San Juan, is one of the most influential and knowledgeable executives in the island's ocean shipping and logistics industry. His longtime expertise operating the Isla Grande Terminal so customers can receive and ship the cargo in the efficient, fast way they need is a natural fit to lead the esteemed business group.
