Last month, Airbnb.org announced it would provide temporary housing to 20,000 Afghan refugees worldwide. We are proud to share that if demand for housing aligns with supply in communities where refugees are resettling, Airbnb.org could provide housing for an additional 20,000 refugees. Thank you to our generous community of Hosts and donors for making this possible. In addition to stays funded by Airbnb.org and donors, 5,000 Hosts (and growing) have offered to provide free and discounted stays to Afghan refugees.

If you own a unique abode like a cabin, tiny home, treehouse or shepherd’s hut, it’s time to consider hosting on Airbnb.
Airbnb is rooted in connection and belonging and we are committed to taking steps to advance racial justice, foster positive change and help empower members of our community. As part of this, it is important that we recognize the Black community’s long standing fight for equality and we applaud the passage of legislation to make Juneteenth a federal holiday in the United States. Starting this year, Airbnb will observe Juneteenth as a paid company holiday for all employees in the United States. To honor Juneteenth, Black@, Airbnb’s employee resource group for Black employees, wanted to highlight the global fight of Black people against oppression. This campaign features an essay from bestselling author Carvell Wallace that details how these uprisings served as a catalyst for societal shifts in consciousness and understanding.
