Achieve together Be you, our equality, diversity and inclusion group, recently came together for a day of connection, conversation and shared learning focused on inclusion, belonging and wellbeing. 🤝 Team members reflected on the importance of creating environments where people feel seen, supported and able to be their authentic selves at work. The day included discussions on: 🪴 Making sure everyone feels included, represented, and has opportunities to grow. 💜 Understanding menopause and hormone health. 💚 Supporting wellbeing and healthy lifestyles for everyone. 🌍 Providing care and support that respects different cultures and backgrounds. We’re proud to continue building a culture where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.

Ellis Evans, a Support Worker at our supported living home in Neston, Cheshire, will be taking on the 5K Wirral Running Fest on the 31st of May 2026 alongside James, a person we support, to raise funds for Chester Pride. A charity that champions inclusion, celebrates diversity, and supports the LGBTQ+ community. As a Support Worker, Ellis plays a vital role in helping people build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. Across our homes, dedicated teams support individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs to step beyond their comfort zones and achieve things they may never have thought possible. Taking on this 5K run is one such opportunity. For James, this challenge represents a significant personal achievement. Being deaf and having learning difficulties, large and busy events can feel overwhelming. However, he has chosen to face this challenge head-on, embracing the opportunity to be part of a vibrant, inclusive community while also working towards his personal fitness goals. James already enjoys staying active, regularly attending the gym and swimming. https://www.gofundme.com/f/chester-pride-and-the-community
🎉 As we celebrate 30 years of Achieve together this year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here. 🎉 Over the past three decades, Achieve together has grown and evolved significantly, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to people. What began as a small organisation with a clear purpose has become a leading UK provider of specialist support for people with complex needs, helping thousands of people live happy, healthy and meaningful lives. This journey has been shaped by the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our team members, who have continually adapted, learned and grown alongside the organisation. Thirty years on, that same sense of purpose continues to guide everything we do. 📽️ Watch the video below to see some of our fantastic team members share what being part of Achieve together means to them.
❤️ Healthy hearts, healthy habits, great teamwork ❤️ During Heart Month in February, Achieve together invited team members and the people we support to share photos of themselves promoting healthy habits. For every photo submitted, we donated £5 to the British Heart Foundation. Thanks to the amazing engagement across our services, we raised £390 to support life-saving heart research. From healthy cooking and walking groups to outdoor activities and fitness sessions, it was inspiring to see the many ways our teams champion wellbeing every day. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped turn healthy habits into meaningful impact. 🫶
📢 We’re proud to share that Ransdale House in Middlesbrough has been rated ‘Good’ in all five areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its recent inspection. 🎉 This is a fantastic achievement, with the home improving from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ across the board - supporting our goal of consistently 'Good' homes. The CQC recognised person-centred care, strong communication support for people with profound deafness or hearing loss, and a culture of kindness and respect. One person we support shared: “I am very happy at Ransdale House…I really enjoyed the BSL pantomimes.” Congratulations and a huge thank you to the dedicated team whose hard work ensures the people we support live fulfilling, independent lives.
🎉 Achieve together turns 30 🎉 This year marks 30 years of Achieve together. 30 years of supporting people to live ordinary lives, with extraordinary people by their side. From our very first services to where we are today, our journey has been shaped by the people we support, our dedicated team members, and the families and partners who walk alongside us. Together, we’ve learned, grown and continued to raise the bar for what great support looks like. Read this blog by Zak Houlahan, our Chief Executive Officer, on turning 30.
