Great People. Poor Management

Pros

Great team spirit. Development Teams are very eager to implement operationally near perfect solutions. All engineers have to work in a operations center which pushes common understanding of what performs well in real world situations and what needs improvements.

Kontras

More and more management positions are shifted towards the US head quarter where the people do not yet fully understand why OpenSystems works and what it makes great. The worst thing in the company is the poor communication from the top management. Furthermore, part time employees are not allowed to take over a lead position.

We are aware that there have been changes in management in the last months, which is a natural occurrence as a company grows to have a global footprint. As you may have read in Martin's email on July 5, 2019, he reinforced his commitment to improving communication, transparency, and open dialogue. It's a challenge most companies struggle with, but we are aware of and are working to improve it. Swiss Post has no clue and it's destroying the company

Pros

It used to be a pretty good company

Swiss Post fired or got to leave the company about one third of it in the last year, including many managers, It's going downhill ever since, many employees are fed up and the productivity has dropped precipitously. Nowadays many teams avoid doing anything that requires a little bit of effort, unless it's critical or mandatory. The management doesn't care about the current employess, that's why they decided not to pay a bonus this year. They promised a bonus for next year, but it seems unlikely that Swiss Post will allow it, especially when most of the companies in Swiss Post Digital continue to lose money and Open Systems is one of the few (still) earning money, there is the rumor that they decided that no bonus will be paid for two years. I would like to believe that the company still has a bright future but it's becoming harder and harder to believe that each month, and the lies of the management don't help, most don't trust them. Many people were promised many things and they have been lied, there are barely any career possibilities
