Pros

The people, although even in the time I spent there the high turnover meant this changed Due to high turnover there are usually openings to move around the company and progress in terms of job title. You will likely be asked to do more than your job title allowing you to develop skills and learn more if given the chance.

Kontras

Compensation is not competitive - I left for the same role in another company close in proximity to simplehuman for a 25% payrise so salary offered is low compared to industry average. Management is luck of the draw - some quality and talent and others, especially in upper management seem to have no idea. If you are in the department with a good manager lucky you, if not good luck. There are not many of them. High turnover in my time at the company, in just over 2 years there were 13 departures, when the whole office is roughly 30 strong it causes large disruption and means work cannot be done to the highest quality. On this note, most with talent and ambition do leave for different jobs usually with a payrise being the main reason. The company feels more of a stepping stone than the family feel SME it previously had. There are far too many in the office who plainly don't seem to want to be there, this is a culture killer so any hopes of building a good company culture is hurt by this.

Pros

Nice facilities and frequent activities during lunch hours.

Kontras

Nearly all work ultimately revolves around meeting the expectations of the CEO/founder, which is challenging because direction can be unclear, inconsistent, and subject to sudden changes. Priorities often shift without communication or explanation, making it difficult to plan ahead or work with any sense of stability. It frequently felt like teams were trying to interpret what the CEO wanted rather than following a coherent strategy. You might be aligned one day only to find the expectations have changed the next, not due to the quality of the work but simply because his ideas had shifted. This created a reactive environment where people were constantly doubting themselves and second-guessing. The result is a workplace where morale is noticeably low and employees appear stressed and uncertain about how to succeed. If you value clarity, consistent communication, or a collaborative culture, this environment may be challenging.
