Kontras
No autonomy - all day you'll have check ins on what you are working on and people up and down the org will join in on telling you what you should work on that day. Lack of Strategy/Disorganized - you'll find everyone in the company (especially out of corporate) will have carte blanche to send google docs requiring everyone to input them. This will seem small but you'll have half a dozen a week taking anywhere between 15-45 minutes to fill out. Then you'll get bombarded with more. It never ends. There's just a TON of busy work you're always having to do that shouldn't be prioritized. Young/Inexperienced managers - they focus on busy work/tasks even if you're hitting all your numbers. Not seasoned to know how to handle regular challenges that employees may run into - they focus more on the hours you are visible on slack/available for calls or in the office. Outdated employee flexibility - they expect you to work weekends and nights if there's urgent matters...and EVERYTHING is 'by EOD' urgent - so you can be sure that will constantly happen. You'll regularly have 730/8am meetings show up on calendar with no agenda - in fact NOBODY sends an invite with an agenda ever, it's maddening. You'll also receive 530pm calls on your calendar regularly. The business hours are '9-6pm' (you'll of course work much more) but they also are pushing to get everyone back in office as fast as possible. They are not a 'work remote' culture. And they expect when you're back in office that you'll work from 9am-6pm and breaks are pretty close to being monitored. you're expected to let managers know if you walk away from desk for more than 15 minutes to do anything.
