Pros

1. They pay on time. They've never failed in this; they inform teachers beforehand if delays or minor adjustments to the payment schedules are afoot. 2. They do bookings for you, so you'll rarely if ever have empty slots. 3. Absences by students are fully paid. Nothing beats sitting for 25 minutes doing diddly squat and getting paid.

Kontras

This is a company that, simply put, doesn't care for its teachers. They will begin the process of improving teacher experience by implementing changes such as an easier communications portal... only to give teachers bare-bones, formulaic responses. The issue of allowing students to give teachers poor ratings is a massive concern with this company, especially considering that a teacher's pay is wholly dependent on such ratings. If only they'd scrap their ratings system, or even just give it a tiny overhaul it would be such a welcome change. With this company, it is never the student or company's fault. If the student is having a bad day or has a bad mood for the class they can ruin your monthly ratings with something horrible like a 1/10, and the company will simply tell you to suck it up or get out. This is completely absurd and demoralizing.

Thank you for sharing the feedback with us. It's glad to know that you enjoy the scheduling rate. Our company has been growing rapidly through the past years with the great support from many of you, and now our large scale of student base can guarantee most of your slots could be filled. Contrary to what you said, we truely appreciate the efforts of every consultant, and many policies have been designed in favor of protecting consultants' rights. For example, as you mentioned, we have very strict payday and also notify consultants way in advance if there is a publich holidy which may delay the pay for only 1-2 days. We also pay compensation for student absence to consultant to make sure your time still be rewarded. Regarding the low rating issue, it's been well recognized and that's why we have a standing low rating invalidation policy across the board to cover some cases where consultants' efforts may be underestimated by the students. All low ratings are processed automatically under our Low Rating Policy, which removes up to 3% of your monthly low ratings within Payroll. This policy was implemented after extensive analysis of low ratings across the board for all teachers and found to be most effective while still preserving the ratings system which is integral to our business model. We do performance reviews base on a consultant's collective work, thus one or two low ratings will not impact a consultant’s standing with us. Having said that, we will always be reviewing our current policy based on consultant's and student's feedback. Any concrete suggestion is more than welcome. Enjoy teaching!

Pros

remote, pick your own shifts

Kontras

terrible pay, unfair review system (a kid would rate you and if they didn’t want to take the class, they just gave you a bad rating)
