The result is a heavier workload, the same deadlines, and no increase in pay. Commissions are typically split 50/50 between at least two people. More often than not, one person doesn't pull their weight, leaving the other to pick up the slack if they care about doing quality work. Vacation time is another challenge. Unless you're willing to pay someone to cover your responsibilities out of your own pocket—and hope they actually complete the required tasks—taking time off can become more stressful than it's worth.
