Reaktion von daisee
7yThanks again for the feedback. They say progress is created by the unreasonable man and Daisee is no exception. We need disagreeable people if we are to disrupt the markets in which we play. However this is a company of people who dare greatly which means we will always have huge problems to overcome. There is certainly value to pointing out those problems but we hope you continue to roll up your sleeves and help us solve them. Otherwise you're just shouting from the cheap seats.

Thanks for taking the time to write this. For the record, it would be wrong to conclude that those with different experience to you must necessarily be fake reviews. Just like it would be wrong of us to conclude you’re neither a present or past employee. We all come to this forum with good faith to listen to the views of others otherwise this is just graffiti. You’re entitled to your views of our culture, but it would be a mistake for you to assert or imply that your experience is anything more than just yours. The risk with review sites like this is that they can be skewed by a vocal minority where the root cause of their dissatisfaction and motivation might not be clear. That means encouraging all to provide their views where they wouldn’t normally do so. That’s not fake. That’s just fair.
Like any company working across multiple locations, we struggle with communication. It’s a journey not a destination. That said, if you are an employee, you will know that we hold a team meeting every Monday and a demo every Friday and our technical team (which represents the majority of our people outside of Sydney) are briefed on a weekly basis by our CTO. On top of that we hold BBQs on a Friday morning and we flew the Melbourne team up to Sydney for an afternoon of presentations on our strategic direction in August. We need to do so much more, but we feel we have the infrastructure in place at least.
One of the great things about working in a company of daisee’s size is that everyone’s voice can be heard and we work hard to give everyone an opportunity. Again, this is a work in progress and is never perfect. However, those voices don’t always agree and ultimately decisions have to be taken on the best way forward. Sometimes that means we don’t go with an individual’s ideas and that can cause resentment. We’re sorry if that happened to you, but hope you’re professional enough to understand why.
On keeping expectations realistic, we know what you mean, but a good working definition of entrepreneurship is doing more than anyone thought possible with less than anyone thought possible. We’ll leave the realistic expectations to larger companies. Startups like daisee have to be about vision and ambition and we make no apologies for that.
If you are still with us, the door is always open for your ideas so we look forward to hearing more of those, but hopefully using Slack rather than Glassdoor ? But thanks for taking the time.
