Pros
Busy, growing airport which means that there are always big projects in the pipeline and new infrastructure plans to get involved in. You get the airport buses half price which is handy for commuting. Although the salary is unbalanced, mine was very competitive.
Kontras
Poor organisation in many areas. There are many lines of reporting and dotted lines all over the place, so it's not always clear what your role is or who you work for. There is no succession plan. Promotions tend to be "longest serving employees", which is unfortunate as many people choose the airport as a job for life and have a family legacy here. No flexi-time or working from home options. Most employees still clock-in/out. Unfair/unbalanced contracts. New contracts are 9-6pm with 20 days holidays only. Older contracts offer better salaries, holidays and working hours. Unless you are someone senior who has been in the business for a great length of time, your staff carpark will be 15-20 minutes walk away from the Terminals. But you can take a shuttle bus. An hour for lunch can be excessive in an airport. There is nowhere to go except the pricey retail outlets and restaurants. It feels very political and oftentimes, decisions are made which may seem illogical. Not much tolerance for diversity and inclusion. These initiatives are only beginning to be rolled out.
