Pros

This used to be a top quality company with a very hard working group of dedicated employees, managers and owners. That's totally gone now.

Kontras

Now owned by a Canadian conglomerate. Within one month they fired 15 employees, most with tenures over 20 years. The majority of these folks were over 50 years of age. Armed security was brought in one morning and within an hour all 15 folks were escorted out of the building. Essentially, the company was purchased for the customer base, with intentions to move those customers to another software platform and then the goal is to ultimately eliminate c-Systems.

Pros

The company is very small which makes it feel more personal and supportive. The management was very organized and showed great leadership. There a vast amount of hands on training which allowed you to become very skilled very quickly. Everyone is reasonable and down to earth. Management also had a great understanding of personal and their families. IT is a very relaxed environment.

Kontras

The company is very frugal so at times you'll find yourself working with 10 year old equipment or playing the improvising game. Training is meant to be a learn as you go hands on experience however there was minimal guidance or management in the training department.

Pros

- A LOT of alone time - Many differing views and opinions - Very Small - Room for progression from one department to another - Jim Phelan is wonderful, Steve is not.

Kontras

- Racism, Close-Mindedness, Bigotry to list a few.. - An absolute lack of self realization and understanding just how far behind the curve this company really is - Many other more advanced Business Management Software companies to work for such as: Ideal, Charter, CDK... - Very elderly staff

c-Systems is a small company, with just under 50 employees - and we pride ourselves on the fact almost half of them have been with the company for more than 10 years. While it is true that we have some older employees, I'm not sure that an average age of 46 years old constitutes a "very elderly staff". Several of these veterans ensure that we remain the most comprehensive and innovative system available for Outdoor Power Equipment, Agricultural and Power Sports dealers, by using their depth of knowledge for the software and the industry to develop new features and products. Along with acting as mentors for newer, less experienced employees, they bring a level of stability to the company that many would envy. Accusations of "Racism, Close-Mindedness, Bigotry..." are completely untrue. The company has a diverse group of individuals comprised of various nationalities and gender. Having worked closely with them for many years, I can truly say that any comments regarding a "resident Asian" were made in jest, with both parties enjoying a laugh; as the person in question is one of the friendliest, most well respected members of the staff. The company has two major and one minor shareholders: President, Steve Stinson, manages the Sales and Customer Support departments; Jim Phelan, Vice President, heads up Accounting, Programming and Marketing Stan Green oversees testing and documentation of our legacy system As with any company, there are bound to be differences in opinions and management style. These may become more apparent as responsibilities cross departments, so that discussion and compromise is necessary to settle on a course of action.
