Pros
I said team, not a company, because I feel that there is a difference with working with a team and working for a company. Everyone knows each other (and as a growing team of not less than 50 people, that's a feat), and I feel right at home sharing my ideas, no matter how weird or crazy-sounding they are. I previously worked for a startup but had to leave for medical reasons, but my comeback to the startup culture was based on my gut that I would be working for a group of people who have the passion to fulfill a noble purpose.
I do not talk about compensation, benefits or amenities here, because I believe that every company can provide them if they have the resources. ZipMatch has them (vacation leaves, medical plan, etc) definitely, but what I like about the company is that it cultivates the idea of being at home with your friends/like-minded individuals via game nights, team huddles, standups, group chats. The vibe here is relaxed, so although there are deadlines needed to be met, you know you have friends/team members to help you out/push to you to accomplish them :)
Kontras
We're getting bigger, but the office isn't. Although I heard from a little birdie that we will be moving to a bigger office real soon. Pantry is getting a little cramped. The management is receptive about flexible working, and I am excited about that given the fact that I am a mother of a 2 year-old toddler. Not that many food options from where we are (lol), but maybe because they want us to prepare our own lunch. Not much windows from where I am, but I try to work at some of the available spaces that has more windows at the office for inspiration.
