Pros

The biggest pro is the people. Sadly, the people are so often turned over it's hard to really build any relationships, because before you know it, they're gone. Each and every person I met, except for the CEO, was unique and had something to share. The office is right next to Pike Place Market, so there's that. The views out of the windows are nice.

Kontras

Salary is FAR below market value. Seriously. Chances for raises are VERY few and far between. Career growth is non-existent. I actually had an attorney for a different firm tell me that if he was going to hire someone and saw this on their resume, he'd decline right away. The bad reputation extends. Job growth is based solely on the person above you quitting or getting fired (which will happen often - mostly quitting). No training, and any training provided is "word of mouth" because the person training you is now a manager because their manager got fired or quit and trained them by word of mouth. No career development - the firm puts you into a specialized role, with hardly any cross-training. Any skills you learn are generally irrelevant to any other job you may have. The firm is focused on its "technology system" which it believes can replaced skilled, reasonably-paid individuals. Sadly, though, it can't and doesn't. The firm operates under a "next man up" philosophy, which helps keep costs low because it continues to replaced seasoned individuals who know what they are doing with new hires. No one knows how or why something is done a certain way - only "that's how we've always done it". The CEO is focused on the bottom line. Which is fine - businesses are in it to make money. However, when you sacrifice quality to meet razor-thin margins, it shows.

Pros

While there may be some shortcomings in the company overall, the remote offices had some more autonomy in how they handled matters unlike the other reviews posted on this site show. The corporate office does have it struggles, but really everyone is doing the best that they can with what they are given. The truth in the matter is the effort you put in is what you will get out of it! The occasional times that you may need to stay late to get something completed is more out of need for the attorneys at the firm than a demand of the company. If you come to work for Weinstein & Riley the expectation that you may have to work hard and possibly pick up from other/former employees slack may be apparent, but they do a great job of recognizing those employees who take that extra step. Many other people in the legal world try to do the bare minimum to not get more work assigned to them, but this will not cut it here. Work hard, try your best and you will be successful within the firm!

Kontras

If you are not willing to put in your effort to further yourself in the firm than it can be difficult for advancement within the company. As stated previously, this job is about what you put into it. If you can't handle the pressure or a fast paced environment than this may not be the company for you.

Pros

There was nothing good about this company. Every employee was miserable.

Kontras

That CEO/owner is something else. He has zero personal skills and doesn’t care about his employees. He used to call a great seasoned attorney, a “clown”. To his face
