      Pros

      Virginia Tech is a great place to work - you can be as involved campus wide as you want to be - in many different aspects.

      Kontras

      There is little room for internal advancement - and things move at a snails pace. A lot of red tape to change policy and procedure. Pay is less than market, but benefits are great.

      Pros

      The experience was great. The PI was amazing and kind and I learned a lot, definitely would do it again. It yielded great results for me such as publication. I recommend for medical school or graduate school.

      Kontras

      Difficult to justify if you don’t plan to have a research career, graduate or professional school because the pay is lower than other positions available in Blacksburg.
