Pros
Independence of thought was encouraged. I had the freedom to set my own research agenda. Some coworkers had been there for a long time (decades) and were very knowledgeable about the product and its history.
Kontras
Culture was lacking. Could have been partly due to covid and remote work, but I suspect there would be issues with on-site as well (perhaps it would have been worse). Lack of clear direction on path forward for flagship/legacy products.
