Pros

Pros There are still some very some capable, committed people doing their best at a delivery level. Before the acquisition of Kin + Carta, Kin + Carta attracted some of the strongest talent in the market some of whom are still working at Valtech currently.

Kontras

In my experience leadership is ineffective and lacks transparency. Decisions are made behind closed doors, are rarely communicated effectively and direction changes frequently. There is little sense of accountability at senior levels, while blame is routinely pushed downward when things go wrong. My experience of Valtech was that the culture is incredibly toxic. Finger-pointing is normalised, mistakes are punished and rather than learned from, and psychological safety is essentially non-existent. Despite frequent talk of “feedback” and “continuous improvement,” leadership is closed off to challenge and resistant to changing how the organisation actually operates. People do not feel valued. Team members are treated as expendable, which is reflected in the consistently high turnover. Since the acquisition of K+C, the business has lost many of its most experienced and talented consultants, and retention has clearly not been a priority. The environment is particularly hostile for women. From personal experience misogynistic attitudes and behaviours go unchecked, and inclusion feels performative rather than genuine. Finally, senior leadership does not model respect or professionalism.

Pros

Great work environment. Real commitment to diversity that goes beyond the surface level.

Kontras

Thin spread of employees that results in a lot of work on each contributor individually.

Pros

Great well known clients & interesting projects.

Kontras

There are no growth opportunities; people managers don't know how to lead; there are layoffs every 2 months for the past 18 months; there is no training (employees are told to learn on their own time / weekends) because if they are not >50% chargeable, they are on the RIF list. The company grew through acquisitions but never integrated or unified the various companies. There are no standard processes, everything is ad hoc. There were no raises this year and no bonuses either of the last 2 years.
