Oh boy..... Since the “big move”, poor decision making has trickled down directly to the Instructor staff. In the former space, the queuing system felt dated and archaic but it worked. The RFID tap in system felt a bit strange but it worked. The games were hit or miss but they worked. In the new space, the move was rushed so very little functions. The infrastructure barely functions. We have to work with very advanced technology and if it doesn’t work as it is supposed to, we can’t service the guests. During the first week of the new opening we had 4 soft openings and out of the 22 experiences on the ground floor...maybe 7 were functional. Tracking issues abound. If you're looking for a place that cares about the technology behind virtual reality, this is not it. Some of the higher end equipment like the one that powers the CARS experience, for example is poorly built and therefore highly unsafe. Too much money went to all the wrong places. It’s a club, bar and art space first. It’s a VR experience second. All because upper management was DYING to show the place off. No time was taken to make sure that the new location functioned the way it’s supposed to. No voices from the instructor team or the tech team were heard. Too much "Don't worry about it. We'll fix it later." Place looks nice, though. The Instagram account looks good and the marketing team are working very hard to make sure VR World has the outward appearance of functionality. The "hypercube" is nice. Not to mention that upper management has the audacity to charge full price to guests for only 40 or 50% of what we are supposed to offer. Not to mention very low pay and extremely low level of communication between upper management and instructor. Long hours and not a whole lot to do because most of the experiences we are forced to shut down because we are understaffed. It’s a pretty place to work, but the business is being run to the ground.
