Very political, hostile work environment. Most people are promoted based on personal friendships, not merit. The long term engineers (8 years and longer) are paid about 40% above the local market and spend most of their time on personal projects or reading, and very little on shippable product. More recent hires (about 4 years and less) are usually assigned to grunt work until they burn out and leave.
