80%+ of profit is now software support renewals... Sales reps are only paid on new license sales, but Quota is based on past sales. Vmware core products have reached saturation. New products are in mature markets or so little value, nobody hits quota. Because it's such a tough situation and such high turnover in Sales, good managers will not work at VMware. So you are left with incompetent management and pay well below market due to unreasonable quotas.
