Pros
The pros, Great connection with the products. Respected world wide brand and market leader. Senior people in the business talk to you as an equal. They do not talk down to you. Salary to workload is amazing. Food cards with a substantial amount compared to other companies. Large amounts of onboarding training. Start up feel which means you can somewhat push yourself to the front. People do get recognition. Coming from the outsourced world that obviously takes some adjustments. My role is manageable in terms of pay to work ratio. I remember working in some places where I was just a number and a quota. Here I am an individual where I am allowed to express myself and work in a manner that suits me. There is multiple groups in the office, force for good, sports and social and a POD hopefully overtime these groups will give employees a voice to shape this office how they want it to be. The company has already allowed us to be part of charitable causes. yesterday we refurbed a house for underprivileged children it gives you a great feeling that you can make a difference. Appreciate the position we are within a company like this that we can actually impact peoples lives.
Kontras
Because of the start up feel it is a little hectic but we all knew that coming in. Sometimes coming into the bubble and big world of VMware you can lose a little bit of perspective. Sometimes you can forget that things can be worse because your not micromanaged to within an inch of your life. However a little more structure would help me from going on a tangent.
