Pros

Kontras

I came here to say my peace. Avoid at all costs. The potential this place could have if the owner, Andi, was completely hands off. I have truly never worked in such a hostile work environment. She is very much a faux-godly woman who micromanages to an extent I've never experienced. Do not show a HINT of your own personality or it will be squashed. If you don't say things completely verbatim to how she says it, she will correct you. In front of guests. Even if it's adding one or two words or simply changing the order ever so slightly. When she's in the building, there is a tension that's VERY palpable as everyone is on edge. Even a guest has mentioned it and tries to come in when she won't be there. I witnessed racist remarks, bullying coworkers, speaking badly behind highly regarded coworkers backs, comments on appearance, and ridiculous standards when the building is usually empty. I was 1 of 4 new hires. 3 out of 4 of us were gone within a month or two. I'm unsure if the 4th is still there. You'd think she would consider herself the problem when she can't retain employees. Always had two people working at all times even though the schedule was typically dead. I'm unsure how labor costs were even possible. Being in Cherry Creek, she wanted to maintain a "rich" persona by nickel and diming everyone, yet the towels for guests were old and worn with literal rips in them, and REFUSED to supply the robes that we have stationed everywhere for the guests to use to create a "spa" environment. Why would anyone pay more in the entire area for basically no added amenities? No incentives for members. Incentives for the memberships easily could have been created, but since she didn't want to look "poor," she'd rather have most of the services go completely unused most of the time. It's a shame since under the right management, that place should be filled every weekend. Has been open for..7 years? And they maybe have 20 members. When she changed the membership options and prices, she just cancelled existing memberships without even telling guests. I understand a 24 hour cancellation policy, but even if a guests mom died that day and they called crying saying that couldn't make it, she would make you charge them. The lack of customer service or basic human compassion was nausea-inducing. She closed down her business in the mountains of Colorado, and recently closed down her studio in Chicago. I have a feeling this will be next. I've never witnessed an owner run their businesses to the grounds by themselves alone. I wish I had better things to say. It was truly appalling. My time was short lived before I quit. Through this experience I did realize I have decent boundaries and some self-worth. For that month+ I saw my creativity, my personality, my entire being, etc., all be stifled. Not worth it for minimum wage Go somewhere else. There are SO many wellness centers who actually enjoy seeing people heal and care about their health. You will be a key part in facilitating that, and your soul will feel filled because of it! People cannot heal at VIVE, and they subconsciously know that. That's why they don't return. Good luck!

Pros

Employee perks for services & friends/family benefits

Kontras

This job entails a lot of cleaning and laundry. If you’re not into that, this is not the job for you.

Pros

Had a great time working here with the local, on-site managers A and S who dedicated so much of their time and lives to this studio. It was an easy job in terms of cleaning, and I enjoyed interacting with customers.

Kontras

The boss flew in every now and then to oversee the studio, and upon her arrivals, she would make things extremely stressful for us, be very demeaning and discouraging (shrouded under false sweetness). She wasn't around the location for much of the year, so much of her insights didn't make sense.
