Pros
1) There are wonderful people across the entire company. And within each brand, there was (can be?) extraordinary brand cultures and connectedness. 2) The brands themselves are vibrant, powerful, and valuable.
Kontras
Unfortunately, the company has lost its way, and the brands and people are paying the price. The perfect storm of strategic leadership misses adding up, overall industry turmoil, and cyclical fashion trends (I'm looking at you, Vans) has led the company into a period of immense challenge. They are laying off staff, restructuring, and are likely headed towards selling off brands to pay down debt. In the meantime, the smaller brands are getting gutted from the inside as they don't bring enough revenue to matter at the moment. The main focus is on turning around Vans. And everyone else is left making the best with what they have.
