First, Uber still have some trait of start ups: city teams have independence to propose ideas to their own city, you have access to all the information you need (with a very hard privacy policy) and people are always looking for improvements. Second, before joining Uber I heard many bad aspects of the culture in place, but things has change dramatically since mid 2017. Now there is a super bright and high performing team with a very pleasant and collaborative work environment.
