Pros

You learn a trade that is very beneficial to the country's defense. It is one of the few jobs in the military that allows you to get certified to work with all four branches in the military. The certifications you can get for this MOS allow you to work within the SPEC OPS groups as well.

Kontras

There is a lot of field time and can be a very dangerous job

Frequent PCS (Permanent Change of Station) moves can strain family stability and make long-term community roots difficult to maintain. Bureaucracy and slow institutional change can be frustrating, particularly when you can clearly see a better way to accomplish a task. Transitioning out after a long career also requires significant personal initiative — the civilian world speaks a very different language, and translating military experience takes real effor
