Pros
I like how I can get paid to work out.
Kontras
Not every job is as physically active as the other. Since UPS started competing with Amazon, the company has gone downhill, and employees are starting to get treated like those at Amazon, even though we're unionized!! The warehouse is dusty and dirty AF. If you have sensitive skin, you will break out in rash or severe acne. The warehouse often smells like diesel fuel and/or paint thinner. I'm sure there are plenty of microplastics floating around. The supervisors rarely compliment your work ethic. They are not shy to complain (i.e. coming back from your 10 MINUTE break 1 min late, talking to your coworker while simultaneously working, etc). Supervisors will watch you like a hawk while working, which makes you feel like a slave on the plantation. Supervisors care more about their bonus check, which is based on employee productivity, than the employee themselves (They will wait until the end of your shift to send you on break if there is high volume, to prevent the belt from stopping - this is why if there is a jam or a nasty leak (i.e. manure) they will yell at everyone to get back to work rather than making sure the mess is cleaned up). Everything is done backwards/without logic at UPS. Supervisors run around with their walkie talkies like chickens with their heads cut off, yet UPS lacks communication and organization. They threaten employees about layoffs due to "low volume" even though it is higher than peak season, then proceed to send people home 20 mins after they arrived, only to get slammed in the stomach with 50+lbs for the next 3.5 hours until supervisor finally lets you go on break. The union feels nonexistent, yet they take a large portion from your check every month and at the start of your employment at UPS.
