Granted not all departments are the same; many are run in the old fashion way: command and control. Your opinion/suggestions/ recommendations are never heard; get used to getting orders and execute on them while being micromanaged. There is no trust in your competencies even when you have more experience and education than your boss. If you enjoy having zero career development opportunities (the company invests $0 in training to keep up with the times – unless you are in upper management and of the right skin-tone), a yearly salary increase less than inflation, and having to pay $2.19 for a coffee (plus $.20 for the to-go cup), then this is the place for you!
