Pros
Employees are empowered to take risks and experiment. Creativity is rewarded and there's a real collaborative atmosphere across teams and departments. It's a flexible working environment — the team is distributed across Europe and North America — and there's plenty of room for growth. It's a fast-paced workplace but everyone's fully on board with the company's mission and vision, there's a real sense of camaraderie, and management listens to employees' opinions. I've not experienced any kind of micromanagement and I feel like I have full ownership and control over my function. Pay is also above industry standard — at least on the editorial side. The CEO is very people-focused and works hard to ensure people within the business feel appreciated and are looked after and is very transparent, both in terms of feedback, and internal comms.
Kontras
As I said, it's a fast-paced environment so it can often feel like you're spinning many different plates — but that's also rewarding long-term as you get to dip your toes into many different aspects of growing a digital business and your opinion is always valued by colleagues.
