Ok place to get your degree but wouldn't stay here - Graduate Student Researcher bei UC Riverside: Mitarbeiterbewertung

There are very few PIs who are not toxic in some way and the pay is very low. It took striking for 6 weeks to get paid minimum wage and get PTO. The environment is very cold and it can be hard to find a good community here. I'm fortunate to have a decent PI and wonderful coworkers but that is not the average experience for most graduate students.
